Welcome to day two of this amazing eye candy blog hop, hosted by Carol @justletmequilt
So the challenge was to make something with a star on it, what could be prettier a quilt with stars
I had recently purchased the EQ8 software, and after playing around with it for a while, my first design incorporated a STAR… and so my ‘wish upon a star’ quilt was born 😉 I will be honest, i did ask google, how many points a star had, just to make sure, turns out, anything from 4 to infinity qualifies
I chose some beautiful fabrics from Craftcotton, a new collection called ‘By The Pond’
The swans were just so pretty, i had to make a feature of them
The top quilt was complete, and with just a few days to complete, i was keen to get it quilting and bound
I chose a bold Teal binding, to pull out the teal in the quilt. All sewn together using Gutermann threads
Thanks for reading, be sure to hop on over to see all the other stars!

What a great design and it really shows how fabric influences a design. In your quilt the beautiful swans really take the show and the stars give a nice interesting background but the quilt could be made with the stars as the star. It’s a really lovely quilt and the teal binding is the perfect choice.

Your photos made your gorgeous quilt shine, Michelle! Having it hang over the chair with those purple flowers made such an amazing photo. I love the fussy cut swans and those fabrics are so beautiful in this quilt. It is definitely worthy of a starring role in this hop! Thanks for playing along and sharing your stars. :O)

How fun that you made a quilt from your own design on EQ! I have EQ8 coming my way soon, and I hope to get some of my designs on it. I’m sure there will be a learning curve, which makes me a bit impatient. Haha. Your quilt is so pretty, and I agree that the swan fabric is lovely!

Lovely quilt!! You have EQ 8. Please tell me about it as I’m thinking of ordering it for myself. Is it user friendly? Lots of options? Overwhelming to learn? Fun? Wish you would have had it years ago?

Sweet Quilt! So wonderful that you designed the quilt yourself – perfect for the practice using EQ. How is it pieced though? Is it foundation paper pieced?
