2 - Log Cabin Blog Hop

The challenge was to use the classic Log cabin block, but which will we choose… curved, triangle, wonky, star, twisted, classic?

The 25 Ambassadors are showcasing twelve new Island Batik lines that will be available in your local quilt shops this month, and they are all beautiful.

I cant decide if i like the prints or colours better in this collection, they are all simply gorgeous… il let you decide

My collection is called ‘Forget-Me-Not’ designed by Kathy Engle for Island Batik… these fabrics have had me day dreaming of warm days spent at the beach, beautiful golden sands and blue seas… look closely, the prints are stunning…

The cabin log block is simple and fun, perfect for all abilities, and there are so many different designs, the possibilities are endless

The prints in this collection are beautiful, so i wanted to create a design that included some large pieces a well, so i turned my cabin log to enable me to add some HST

Take a look at these beautiful prints up close

My quilt is made up of sixteen 14 1/2″ blocks, so each block really shows off the gorgeous fabrics, sewn together using Schmetz needles and Auriful threads from the Sicily Yellow collection.

  1. I tend to go for bright, rich colors when I quilt and most often, there are shades of pink and purple in those projects! I love most colors!

  2. Michelle your gorgeous quilt has me dreaming of spring and summer and thinking of my Mom. Her wedding band was gold and engraved with forget me nots!
My favourite colour is whatever colours I am using in my current quilt project. 4 out of 7 of my latest quilts had purple as a major colour and 5 out of the 7 had blue. 😉 Carol

  3. I love your blue and yellow batiks! I love bright colors but many of my quilts have shades of teal and peach/rust. Would love to get my hands on some of these batiks to play with, thanks for the giveaway!!

  4. Your received a great fabric collection, and your log cabin quilt shows it off. It’s a sunny quilt that is very cheery on wet, dreary days like today.

  5. my favorite color is white and I fill in all around this with what ever color I am making for someone. It is usually their favorite color (or my choice for a baby) that surrounds.

  6. I love scrappy quilts, so I use all the colors. I did make a blue and yellow quilt for my granddaughter (her school colors), and I have a redworks UFO that I hope to get to later this year.

  7. My favorite quilting colors keep changing. I like to use blues, but also maroon. I made a blue & yellow table topper – that combination is so cheery!
