Welcome to a fun week of ‘Be A Diamond’ Blog Hop hosted by Carol @justletmequilt.
At the bottom of this post, you’ll find a list of all the amazing bloggers taking part…
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my quilt, be sure to leave me a comment, they make my day, and why not follow my blog if you like what you see 🙂
I love how simple shapes, make really interesting patterns, and the diamond is definitely one of these shapes… I don’t think I’ve ever made a ‘tumbling block’ quilt before, so this was a perfect opportunity to give it a go. I also had the perfect Diamond ruler which came free with a recent copy of Quilt Now Magazine
All the fabrics used in this quilt are from Stoffabrics, the ‘teddy’ fabric is super soft and cosy, a perfect fabric for a new born quilt.
Who loves a ‘Y’ seam? cause this pattern is bursting with them
I guess I cant keep you waiting any longer… here is my ‘Be A Diamond’ Quilt…
I really enjoyed quilted one side of each of the illusion boxes
Be sure to head over to Stoffabrics to check out all their fabric collections

Beautiful! Even the idea of a “Y” seam is pretty scary to me lol.

What a sweet quilt just full of diamonds! I’m not a fan of Y seams, but you made them look easy in this. I love the fabrics…well, I love the whole thing! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Michelle! What a cute quilt! Although I’ve managed to shy away from Y-seams so far, this cute pattern just might entice me to give them a try. ~smile~ Roseanne

Love your version of tumbling blocks and the quilting to emphasize the 3D.

Love this quilt, especially the way you went into the background with the pieces. Fun version of a traditional block/quilt.

I was hoping that someone would do the blocks with the diamond shape. Nice job!

Until today I never realized that the tumbling blocks were composed of diamonds. Your baby quilt is wonderful and looks so cuddly. Great job.

I don’t mind that type of Y seam, as I did a ton of them once in a quilt for my daughter and got the hang of them then. They are rewarding when you open them up and they sit flat, aren’t they. 🙂 You did a great job on your diamond quilt and it will make a very nice gift for a new baby.
