I love how simple shapes, make really interesting patterns, and the diamond is definitely one of these shapes… I don’t think I’ve ever made a ‘tumbling block’ quilt before, so this was a perfect opportunity to give it a go. I also had the perfect Diamond ruler which came free with a recent copy of Quilt Now Magazine

All the fabrics used in this quilt are from Stoffabrics, the ‘teddy’ fabric is super soft and cosy, a perfect fabric for a new born quilt.

Who loves a ‘Y’ seam? cause this pattern is bursting with them

I guess I cant keep you waiting any longer… here is my ‘Be A Diamond’ Quilt…

I really enjoyed quilted one side of each of the illusion boxes

Be sure to head over to Stoffabrics to check out all their fabric collections

  1. Until today I never realized that the tumbling blocks were composed of diamonds. Your baby quilt is wonderful and looks so cuddly. Great job.

  2. I don’t mind that type of Y seam, as I did a ton of them once in a quilt for my daughter and got the hang of them then. They are rewarding when you open them up and they sit flat, aren’t they. 🙂 You did a great job on your diamond quilt and it will make a very nice gift for a new baby.
