Great Outdoors Blog Hop

And the best part… YOU have the chance to win a bundle of this beautiful collection.

This collection is filled with flowers, dragonflies, bees and doves – everything i love to watch in my garden, and so that’s my inspiration came from to create this…. Ta Da

The beautiful pinks, purples, teals, blues and green are simple gorgeous

My quilt began like this…

I fussy cut all the beautiful flowers, doves and dragonflies, and added them to my garden trellis, and after stitches the trellis, with the help of Vlieseline H250 Stabilizer fused to the reverse, I used FMQ to add the leaves

There was something quite pretty about the two doves sitting on the top, so i sewed them in place.

There are so many beautiful fabrics in this collection, i wanted to use some as a boarder. I couldn’t resist using the beautiful dragonflies in blue/purple for the backing, and the opposite colour combo for the binding

And my quilt was complete, i used a lovely lush wadding 295 from Vlieseline, as i have plans to leave this comfy quilt laying on my bed for my cats to sleep on, but something tells me my dog has plans of his own 😉

  1. Ohh ahh! Your quilt is delightful and these fabrics are gorgeous.I would make a scrappy purse and some cosmetic bags with these. I’d use the scraps in an art quilt. I never waste a smidge of batik! Thanks for sharing your quilt and introducing your dog!

  3. You are the fussy-cut queen. I’d make a lap quilt to use during movie marathons this winter when we are snowed in…as a reminder that Spring will return…. now if I can only get through this summer heat. Maybe I should pull out snowman fabric and imagine it cold outside 🙂 Your trellis quilt is stunning 🙂

  4. Your quilt is beautiful! and I love your dog!!! Is he a Newfoundland? We have a Great Pyrenees (brothers from another mother hahaha)
I’ve been gathering block ideas that have flowers, like rose bud block. The batiks would be perfect for those! But then anything with batiks would be beautiful!

  5. I do love this quilt – the trellis, the flowers and all the little touches – just gorgeous. Your newfie is too sweet – my dog always likes to be one the newest creation! He’s 30 lbs – can’t imagine a newfie in the bed with the cats!

  6. What a pretty bundle of fabric. I’d love to make a table runner for my newly-married friend with it, if I were the lucky winner. Your quilt is so pretty, and I think you did such a great job with the perspective on the trellis. (I am rubbish at that.)

  7. I’d use it to leap into the next Quilt Along that took my eye! I’m currently in two, and I love making the blocks for them every week. I love your dog! Mine is a pomeranian – he’s cuddled up next to me right now. 🙂 I’m following your blog on rss.

  8. Wow, this is absolutely stunning!!! I really like how you created the trellis and then added to it. Amazing! The fabrics in this collection are beautiful. I’d do something that keeps them all together, maybe a tote bag. (I follow via bloglovin)

  9. I would love to make one of my great-nieces a quilt with these fabrics. They are her favorite colors. I am working to make all 8 nieces (including greats) quilts this year. This fabric would be perfect for one.
