I’m so excited to share my summer/autumn project… my quilted clam tote bag, with internal zip pocket. These fabrics are from the collection ‘Amalfi’ by RJR fabrics, sewn together using the beautiful Gutermann threads
I really enjoy hand sewing, so i was super keen to make this tote bag using the clam template
The prints are just stunning, I especially love the lining fabric and I added a zip pocket (always handy to have a place for your phone and purse)
For the full tutorial, be sure to grab an upcoming issue of Patchwork & Quilting Magazine, and no need to worry about missing it, I will be sure to remind you π
Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your week…

I’ve never made a clamshell quilt. Using clamshells for this bag was a clever idea! It really turned out nice!

The clamshells look terrific. It isn’t a “block” I have been drawn too, but I love what you did with them. I may now be thinking of a project.

When I first saw the picture of all the clam shells, my immediate thought was – wow! they are pretty, but what a lot of work for a quilt. Then when I saw that it became a bag, I was thoroughly impressed and inspired! It looks great!
