Exciting times…

Its the start of new week, almost a new month, its the month I get to annoy my kids saying ‘may the forth be with you’ in a few days…

Unlike most Monday’s, today I was buzzing, its the day i get to sew my quilt together, its my first design I’ve created using the new EQ8 software, last week I worked out all the minor details, and yesterday i cut all the pieces in preparation…

After creating the first of 9 blocks that make up the quilt, i found it a little busy, so i decided to make a few more changes…

Does anyone else get exciting about seam nesting?  I just love it when it all comes together

These fabrics are from Craft Cotton, its a new collection called ‘by the pond’ and I’m using this beautiful variegated thread from Gutermann

I love to fussy cut too, so i was keen to show off these lovely swans in these fabrics

Thanks for reading, I’m off to sew a little more, before the kids get home from school, I will return soon with my progress 🙂

  1. Hi Michelle,
Oh, I love that variegated thread. It looks so nice with those blocks. Big huge congrats on your first design in EQ8! You are motivating me to make time to do something in the software myself. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Yes on nesting seams! Hardly ever happens at my house. LOL I do like that variegated thread. I can see how useful it would be. Great fussy cutting, too!
