Small, Smaller, Smallest Blog Hop!

Today is the day, to finally be able to share with you my first ever blog hop piece, i ordered these beautiful fabrics a while ago from Sew Hot and this was the perfect project to use them for…

These fat quarters were taken from the Peppered Cottons range .  “These are yarn-dyed shot cottons, meaning the weft and warp are two different colors, giving each color a unique look. These shot cottons are a heavier weight that others on the market and thus have earned their standing as a ‘favorite’.”

Really lovely to work with, I laid out my pattern and chose my favouite stitch  – blanket stitch.

Each square got small, smaller, to the smallest, as they spread to the outer edge, and also  the over lap decreased on each square too.

The wording i wanted to use from the gorgeous fabric ‘sew it!, quilt it! love it! in purple by Amy Hamberlin of Kati Cupcake Pattern Co was slightly smaller then i needed to start off the big square, so i mounted this.

I blanket stitched this mini quilt using the gorgeous thread from Gutermann, colour number 662.

For the backing i used a small piece of grey blender, and some floral fabric from craftcotton , that i had left over in my scraps, and after quilting the middle square, i bound the quilt with some baby pink binding.

I’m so pleased with how this turned out…
